giveaway time!!!

I know no one would read what i write here because everyone just rushes down to the giveaway rules but anyway:

the first time I got to know about Lush was in 2010 when I first visited London. our couchsurfing host took us to the Portobello road market and we were following him around like 6 ducklings for a couple of hours. when we reached the place where Lush was (I think they're closed now :( ) he asked us in his gorgeous and knee weakening british accent: have you ever been to Lush? we hadn't, of course, so he took us inside and oh sweet lord, it smelled so good in there. but because of our Primark dedicated budget we didn't buy anything.

after that visit I decided to move to London for the summer and it happened that I got a job just off the Portobello road. which meant that Lush was always on my way, which also meant that I was getting by english standards, which also meant that I could afford bits and pieces from Lush from time to time. I remember, I fell in love with everything about it and even though not every smell was to my nose and not all prices were to my wallet I loved the staff*, the attitude of the brand, the products and everything in between. I was so sad to come back home from England knowing that there isn't a single Lush store there that I was even planing to write a letter to the owner of Lush asking to open one in here, too.

even though I didn't send out that letter, the Lush store was opened last year after all and even though it's not quite the same as the british ones I still love to sneak inside and look/smell around. and while thinking what I could give away on my blog I figured that it could be something I really like myself. unfortunately, Lush doesn't have anything to do with this, they didn't give me anything to give you away except the things that I paid for myself, but I just really want to introduce people to what they do and what they sell. long story short:

Lush produces and sells a variety of handmade products, including soaps, shower gels, shampoos and hair conditioners, bath bombs, bubble bars, hand and body lotions and face masks. Lush uses fruit and vegetables, essential oils, synthetic ingredients, honey and beeswax in their products. In addition to not using animal fats in their products, they are also against animal testing and perform tests with volunteers instead.

says wikipedia. I would highly recommend finding a nearest Lush store and going to look around. they have amazing stuff in there, besides, the products they sell make really nice presents as well, which I am going to prove below:

THE GIVEAWAY

I am giving away a gift set from Lush called Out of This World. it consists of two things: a fruity and sparkly Space Girl bath bomb and a star-shaped chunk of Rock Star soap.

when in hot water Space Girl bath bomb starts hissing and turning in water dyeing it this nice purple colour, leaving it sparkly and fragranced. and Rock Star soap seems to be a cute addition to it since it's smells of vanilla. and yes, I sound like a Lush sales person, I know.

the winner of the giveaway will win an unpacked box of these goodies.

since all those beauty boxes came into fashion I was very sceptical about them. and having tried one of them I still, in fact, am sceptical. I understand the idea behind them which is the excitement of the unknown everytime a postman comes with a box. it's like getting a present - you know it's something good inside but you have no idea what. it's just that you paid for the present yourself. and to be honest, I don't have spare money to spend on a cat in a bag every month. I would rather go and spend the money on something I really need instead of hoping that people working in the beauty box companies would accidentally put in the box something that I need at the moment.
on the other hand, the retail price of the products delivered is quite surprising. so all in all, beauty boxes have both, advantages and disadvantages, - we used to write in essay writing classes.

anyway, I got to try this Adore Box for free, so no money paid, no harm done, no regrets regretted. this is what was inside:

a shampoo + conditioner

a questionable design eye shadow

nails and hand cream

 a perfume tester

+ some more testers

and of course I will find where to use them all but there wasn't anything in there that I would be in a desperate need of. except maybe SPF cream, to protect my nose from getting sunburn and attracting even more attention. oh well, we have this saying: you don't look at the teeth of a horse which you got as a present apparently it's international: don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

this is another video that I made at the recording studio Ymir Audio. This time it was an alternative music band of 4 guys called Deeper Upper, recording their new EP. I think the songs turned out to be very cool, so if anyone is in that kind of music, you can check out their facebook for more details.

as far as I can remember my family was always keeping a dog. the majority of them were sheltered by my parents (e.g. I still remember when being 8 years old I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and my mom said 'do not get scared, there's someone in there'. it was a small black puppy extremely happy to see me. apparently, my dad had his birthday party at work and being a bit tipsy he saw a homeless puppy on his way home. he took the puppy for me and my sister 'to keep for a couple of weeks', as he said. the dog stayed with us for 14 years.

anyway, none of the dogs that my family owned or took care of was of any breed. they were simple dogs from streets or neighbour's neighbour's village and I could never understand the concept of buying a dog for thousands and thousands of money when there are so extremely many homeless dogs out there in need of home and love. but now, having someone with a dog allergy in my life made me start to think that eventually we will have to choose a bred dog since only a certain amount of breeds are suitable for people with allergies (even though experts say that there is no 100 per cent allergy-free dogs). I know that not having a dog (ideally, two) in my life is not an option for me therefore I googled some hypoallergenic dogs and picked out my favorites (and then, when we buy one I promise to donate or visit the dogs in shelters to make up to them for buying a posh and expensive dog).

as you can see, I like my dogs to be hairy.
